Geotracking at Kelud Mountain [Ed.Sumpah Pemuda]

Last year, it was at October 26 - 27,  2013 I and my friends were tracking from Tulungrejo Village to Kelud Mountain. It took about 5 hours to reach the peak. There were 4 posts for us to take a rest.  We went there to celebrate Hari Sumpah Pemuda or Youth Pledge Day. Here are the pictures :D

I and the participants of Geotrack Kelud took a picture before starting the tracking.

we walked along the way. It was misty. Do you see where we are? Hehe
Yeah, it was rain in the night. So we just stayed in tent.
Misty in the morning but bright and clear after that [ceremony].

 This is us!! #Last day #AfterCeremony #memorable #inPeakofKeludMountain

HAPPY YOUTH PLEDGE DAY!! :)

KELUD ERUPTED

Last night the rooster crowed and sounded like being restless. I felt there was something bad happened. This early morning, from my room, I heard my parents talked with my neighboard. It’s sound like talking about suprising thing. It made me curious. So I went out and found something unimaginable. “Ah, that’s why the chickens were restless. They should get caught of the rain.”. It’s unusual rain. The material was not made from water but volcanic ash. Waiiiiittt!! Was it from Kelud Mountain? Was it erupted? The location is quite far. It take about more than 4 hours from my city. It should be the biggest erupted that ever been. Well, to know what’s happened, I thought to watch news in television soon.

KELUD MOUNTAIN ERUPTED

* not my own picture*

Kelud Mountain erupted on Thursday, February 13, 2014, at 10.50 p.m.. It spewed ash and gravels. It was the bigger eruption than before. The sound was heard until in Solo, the Middle Java. Not only that, the volcanic ash spread out in Java and Madura. When erupted, it accompanied by thunderclap because of strong sulfur gas. It erupted not long after the change of status from standby to beware. So it made people worried and  survived by themselves. Some of them seperated by their family. The impacts of the eruption are:
-    broke some buildings [people’s house]
-    the way Malang-Kediri closed
-    some flights in Yogyakarta and Sidoarjo couldn’t operate for uncertain time.
-    Some schools closed
-    Borobudur Temple closed
-    People’s activity hampered

Let's pray for Kelud.

Well, guys... here are a little my posting about the eruption of Kelud. I hope to be able to make it completely. Next, I'll posting about my experience in Kelud Mountain. Thanks for reading. If you have the other information about it, let's share in comment below. See you.. :)

TRIP TO BROMO SEASON I PART 2

We couldn’t find the mountain while it was fog. So we decided to ask the local guide to help us to find it. Oh God! The guide deliver us just for a moment and got us to go straight only and jreng jreng… we found it. The fog was really amazing. Haha! It covered it well. Actually we had been in front of the Bromo Mountain for earlier. XD

However, it was at 5 a.m and still be unable to see the crater. But we could see the Batok Mountain.

It was still dark around. We couldn't see the way to the crater.

Finally we just saw the sunrise from in front of the Batok Mountain.

BAJUL MATI 1

Bajulmati beach is divided into two parts, Bajulmati 1 and Bajulmati 2. Both Bajul mati 1 and Bajul mati 2 are in same location [Kecamatan Gedangan, South of Malang City]. You can go to Bajulmati beach by car or motorcycle. It takes about 3 hours from Malang City. As long as you're in journey, you will be welcomed by the nature scenary. There is a point, when you pass the forest, you’ll see the spread out of field. I call it “the sea of field” or “the green sea”. Haha! :D Unfortunately I can’t take the picture of it because I must stop in blind turning and it’s dangarous, of course.

The Bajul mati 1 beach is wide, so you can do many activities there like play volley beach, play football beach with your friends, take picture, camping and others. :)

Tips

-         It’s better not go there at night. Because there’s no street lamp in the forest.
-         I think camping there is a good idea. Hehe!

The Facilities

-         Parking
-         Shop
-         Warung (small traditional restaurant)
-         Mushollah
-         Toilet

What special menu of break the fast is in your place? :)

Well, for settled foreigner, the best traveling in Ramadhan I think is visiting family or coming back to hometown, silaturahim, and doing pray fardhu and sunnah as much as possible together. :)

NGANTEP BEACH

Ngantep beach is located in Desa Tumpakrejo, Kecamatan Gedangan, Kabupaten Malang. It’s in the same direction to Balekambang beach but it’s nearer. It takes about 2 hours from Malang. The first time I visited Ngantep beach on Tuesday, 2 April 2013. The road to get to the Ngantep beach is still ground and rocky.

Maybe Ngantep Beach is still new for some people but this beach has been known by international tourist especially from Australia. According to the people there, many international tourist come to the Ngantep beach on Saturday and Sunday for surfing. Ya, Nganteb beach is good for you who want to surfing. Beside surfing, you can also do caving, fishing, planting (tree, plant, or flower), and others. There are some homestay there. So it’s good to you who want to enjoy longer or do more activities or have holiday there.

There is a tradition in Ngantep beach when Hari Raya Indul Fitri. So, all the people go to the Ngantep beach to eat Ketupat (special menu in Lebaran day. It made from steam-hulled rice) together. At that moment, Ngantep beach become so crowded. :)
